The moment I walked into this house, I fell in love with it. I had lived in the States, in Italy, in Brazil, but this time I wanted to be in Brussels...
No other house I had visited before had all those magnificent details: hardwood floors, marble chimneys, stained glass, old tiles ...
The house, typical for a Brussels townhouse, was built in 1883 and ordered by ... a woman.
Hard to believe I have been here for ten years now. The house has grown, and has changed. It has seen numerous guests coming and going and coming again. Some of my best friends today, I met this way. My best memories, I share with them.
Together with my little daughter Nerjis, we are able to welcome you in 7 + 1 languages: dutch, french, english, german, spanish, portuguese and italian are all spoken fluently - 'hottentot' (my daughter's sounds) for the smaller ones.
We love to cook, and it shows. On Friday nights, we share our table with our guests. Every morning, we'll brighten your day with our presence. No, we do not shy away from our guests. We love talking too much.
We worship Brussels, and though there is more to see & do & eat than one can possibly take in a lifetime, we do tend to recommend our favorites.
The house, the interior, us, it has been all well described by journalists: 'Time Out' loves it, dutch magazines adore it, an italian journalist calls it his home in Brussels, Lonely Planet finds me 'exhuberant'...
We might not be the best, nor the most strictly organised, but certainly the warmest welcome of Brussels, and the quirkiest designs, is what you will find here.
If all this and more is what you are looking for on your next journey to Brussels, we hope you choose us...
